ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Liam!
I'm a senior at St. Anthony's High School on Long Island, New York, and maintain a 3.9 GPA. I've been interested in sharks and marine life for as long as I can remember, and over the years that interest has become a pretty big part of my life.
When I was little, I was pretty sure I wanted to be a marine biologist. I even had the shirt to prove it (that's me in the picture giving my 4th grade class a talk about sharks).
As I grew up my interest in sharks grew into a curiosity about marine science as a whole. I've been so lucky to spend lots of time working with marine scientists and participating in research projects while learning about the ocean both in and out of the classroom. I've met so many incredible people along the way who have been generous with their time and knowledge and encouraged me to keep learning. I hope that someday I can do the same for another kid who's just as excited about marine science as I am.
Iām not all about marine science though. I'm also a cross country and track runner and play clarinet in my school's symphonic band. Running and music are two very different parts of my life but I really enjoy both. They give me a chance to challenge myself with something different and spend time doing other things I love.
My goal is to study marine science in college and eventually turn something I've loved since I was a kid into a career. I'm still figuring out exactly what that career might look like but I'm excited to figure it out.
